Neighbor’s son had it and he couldn’t be in the house if any beef product was cooked. Literally would almost kill him. Like neighbor said, you don’t realize how many foods have beef byproducts. Years later he’s better and tried everything. Went to Atalanta a fe times a year for treatments.
Worst case if ever heard of.
Sennett seem to get a really bad upset stomach etc…..
I pull ticks off me on a weekly basis. I spray clothes etc…. But evidently they really like me.

My boss is going on almost four years with it. Gets tested every six months.
I had someone come and fix my sprinkler system this week. After finishing up we got to making small talk. Asked me if I knew who Bill Gates was. He said Bill Gates was the largest investor in meatless meat. Bill Gates had modified the Lone Star tick to make humans allergic to red meat so we would be forced to buy his lab grown meat.

The wife and I both have it.
She has it bad. She has a reaction to the smell of any mammal being cooked. Literally coming out of the mall she lost her voice from the smoke from chipotle in Florence.
I and much better than her. I cannot eat anything cow, milk butter, meat. I cannot eat a little pork. Anything Cow is anaphylactic shock.
Our diet is mostly chicken and fish.

It's been all over FB and other social media sites that Gates is behind the Alpha-Gal outbreak and releasing the infected ticks. Who knows if its true or not? Might be true or maybe not. We don't know what to believe in this day and age that we live in. I find that fact to be very sad.

How’d you know you had it? You get sick and go to dr? Or pull off tick and go and just got tested? Didn’t know what symptoms you had to go to dr and see about it. I had a tick 3-4 weeks ago and my wife removed it. Then I was having lots of symptoms; flushing, nausea, big D, stomach issues, new kind of headache, and on and on. We were talking about it and she said I should get tested for tickbornes so I did. Sure enough, positive for AGS, negative for RMSF, Lyme
I don't want to pass quietly into the night. I want to slide in sideways kickin and screamin

I'll admit that when I opened this thread I had heard about the tick that causes red meat to make people deathly sick, but I had no idea of the name of the condition. I thought you had ran up on Rhonda Rousey and got your azz kicked or something.

My cousin has it. It’s double bad for him because deer meat is pretty much the only mammal they eat. He would normally kill at least 13 deer a season for the freezer. Now it’s fish and chicken

Also read there are false positives.

When i got it i would instantly break out into hives under my pitts & sides and swelling around my neck when had burger or steak! 🫤

It does different things to different folks. I had it for about 3 years I guess many years back. I was the first person the military ever tested for it.
My worse symptoms were with lean deer meat or elk, prime cuts of beef, everything else including pork was tolerable. Usually the more fat in the meat the less it bothered me.

Well, I got Alpha GAL Syndrome dangit, just tested positive. I have been treating my clothing with Permethrin and it works fantastic. I haven't had a tick in over a year and I'm in the deep bush almost every weekend. The one time I went into the woods without treated clothing, I got that one danged tick that had it and he gave it to me.
So, no venison, beef, pork, lamb, milk, butter, yogurt, cottage cheese ... nothing from a mammal. I'm on a high protein diet and I'm having a difficult time meeting my daily protein goal now.
I'll adjust to it but right now I am pissed off and venting. Looks like my diet will consist of eggs (cooked in veggie oil), poultry, seafood, veggies, and fruit.
You guys be careful out there. Like I said, Permethrin has worked perfectly for me. I keep 5 sets of shirts/pants in my gun room that are treated with Permethrin and USUALLY I go in there and change clothes before I go out on my property. How long after the bite until you noticed any symptoms and what were the first ones? I found a tick on my yesterday. It was in my toe. It hurts worse than any other tick but I've had, but maybe due to location of bite. Toe is red and swollen now
