You've got pretty much all the bases covered already, but what's the fun in that. One of my favorites I've hunted with the past few years is a Tikka T3X Hunter in 6.5x55. Don't know of anyone that chambers it in that price range(or at all for that matter), but 257 Roberts is another classic. Both rounds are great, I hunt with the 6.5 x 55 Swede now and sometimes the 06 my favorite Those Swedes are great. Accurate, mild recoil and a deer shootin mo sheen
