My first plantings of the spring always seem to be shorter than my later plantings. I’m not sure when you planted the first patch but corn grows slower in cooler temps but will still mature in the same amount of time. Within the 90 days the variety takes for example. I find it’s usually about 6 weeks from tassel till it’s time to pick. So you may be on schedule. Your second patch probably had warmer temps to grow in therefore your plants will get up to the 6-6.5 plant height that most sweet corn varieties grow too. I’ve never planted any corn that’s more than 75-80 day. I said all that to tell you that is all my uneducated guess as why your corn is short. thumbup
