I’m a salesman myself….18yrs in sales and counting. I have zero patience for bad/pushy salesmen, especially after they’ve completely ignored the “no soliciting” signs at the neighborhood entrance, I’ve told them “no” repeatedly, and they still won’t leave. So no, I don’t think it’s chitty to turn the water on them at that point
What are they selling door to door now? I haven’t seen a door to door in years. A few jehovah witnesses tho
security systems (Vivint is especially common), 2-3 different pest control companies, the occasional lawn care company. And at least once a year, we'll get someone selling "educational materials"...usually a young, eastern-european female. They usually lead with "do you have any children in the house?" or something to that effect, as if that's not a major red flag
