Sounds to me like the salesman could be the one facing liability; He was trespassing. We really need to see the video to have a definitive answer  I would love to soak the ones that come beat on my door!

Pretty chitty to turn the water on someone out trying to make a living. Is it ok to start slapping the chit out of all salesmen? I know there are a lot of them on here. I’m a salesman myself….18yrs in sales and counting. I have zero patience for bad/pushy salesmen, especially after they’ve completely ignored the “no soliciting” signs at the neighborhood entrance, I’ve told them “no” repeatedly, and they still won’t leave. So no, I don’t think it’s chitty to turn the water on them at that point Im no legal expert, but it seems your out is the no soliciting signs at the entrance. Shouldnt have been there to begin with? My understanding is the signs aren’t truly enforceable until they have been officially trespassed from the property, and since it’s a different salesman each time that doesn’t accomplish much

The salesman is pretty slow physically and mentally if he couldn’t avoid a sprinkler system without getting soaked.

There was a time when I considered a motion activated water sprinkler aimed at the porch. But my wife reminded me that she was having an affair with the Amazon delivery man. Seems to bring her nice gifts two or three times a week.

A few jehovah witnesses tho security systems (Vivint is especially common), 2-3 different pest control companies, the occasional lawn care company. And at least once a year, we'll get someone selling "educational materials"...usually a young, eastern-european female. They usually lead with "do you have any children in the house?" or something to that effect, as if that's not a major red flag
