I just don’t get it…

The middle class Average Joethats unwilling to take on massive debt has been almost completely priced out of virtually everything…houses, vehicles, “toys”…

Rise in Income isn’t even close to keeping up with how fast everything else is rising. Our household income is significantly higher than it’s ever been and while we’re not struggling to make ends meet and save for retirement, we still have to be careful with how we spend money. And we don’t have a bunch of expensive stuff. Typical house, 1 car payment and that’s it for debt.

It’s demoralizing

Local polaris dealer had 2 or 3 on their lot a couple years ago that I didn't recognize. Looked them up when I got to work to see what they were and they were some special Polaris northstar sxs models. They were priced at $89999.

Not only do they pay 40k+ for them, but then they dive the off into a mud hole up to their necks every weekend. When I was looking for one several years back, I kept seeing machines on marketplace that were only a year or two old that were advertised as "runs good, but smokes a little". After that, no way I'd buy a used one if I didn't know the history of it. I wound up buying a closer to base model for around 12k. Since COVID, those base models are closer to 15k or so. They aren't all 30-40k.

Or a lot of stuff financed...

That’s what I was thinking. Tell me your check to check without telling me you are check to check. Some folks actually have money but most don’t.

That scares me too.

I am not good enough mechanic wise to know any better.

Some people spend that on one but doesn’t mean you have to. You can buy one in the low to mid teens that should be good based on what you described.

So what does everyone think about this new Slate EV for $25k? I was envisioning putting on some buckshots, wrapping in a matte dark flat earth, calling it good. Air and heat and load up the deer in the bed. It would depend on the property terrain as to if the concept would work. But maybe a lot better than $40k on a sxs

Know a guy bought two fully loaded northstars. Wrote check. Another guy bought a two door northstar and put 33s on it. Winch front and back and hasn’t had use them yet except to pull a fellow out of hole.

"Why do you ask"?

Too many people spend money they don't have , on things they don't need, to impress people they don't know.
