Police dept are nothing more than government tax collectors. They have no interest in solving crimes, serving justice, or protecting the public! Just when I think you might just be an OK guy and are coming around, you have to once again post something that is borne from pure ignorance.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Im not ignorant, just calling a spade a spade!

Caught a guy breaking into my daddys house, cops show up and let him go, and say if anyone should go to jail, it should be you! Its against the law to hold someone at gunpoint in alabama. These kinda story's go on and on. I dont blame the people doing the job, alot of them are good people, i blame the department for setting these bs policies. Ands whats ALWAYS their excuse..........we dont have enough MONEY!

Dang! just Dang! I agree there are some real pricks in Law Enforcement out there. There are a lot of unknowns in many of the cases that is being complained about here. What I wish is that it should be a requirement that every American successfully complete a course in Constitutional Law and the basic rights/authority and duties of a Law Enforcement officer. Most have no idea what a city cop, Deputy, State or a Game Warden can and cannot do.
For a starter: In Alabama if they do not witness the crime, they cannot make a warrantless arrest except for domestic violence, felonies, violating protection orders and such.
I always would tell folks, when they saw me and said, "there's the law", I would say I'm not the law, the law is written in a book and I'm here to tell you what the book says. If you don't like the book, then contact your legislators.
Having said that, after more info was added to the original post, it does appear at the very least a charge of receiving stolen property could've been used.
As for the others, not enough info given but does appear a little leg work by the popo could be a big help.
If they write tickets, then they're harassing folks for petty crimes.
If they work a case and can't get the evidence, they're sorry no good tax collectors.
I have a book you all should read, The Tactics of Criminal Patrol. Would open your eyes to working traffic and why they really do it.
I've wrote to much; it'll be dismissed anyway.
It takes a District Attorney to prosecute and a Judge to pass sentence. The only power the popo have is to arrest you. If the District Attorney won't prosecute or the Judge won't pass sentence, then what are you gonna do.

My last comment on this, unless someone has a question for me. Instead of blaming the police, how about holding the people accountable for creating this situation. I'm not sure if everyone realizes that most criminals have some sort of mental illness and Alabama has virtually no, as in zero, State mental health care availability. To take it further, it is illegal for a jail to hold someone that is mentally ill. In other words, arrest a crazy person and they are on the street again before the paperwork is done and that is not an exaggeration. Why am I so passionate about this you might ask? Well, it is because when I stared my career in law enforcement, it wasn't like this. I'm not saying that AL had a great mental health care system, but they had one and now they don't.
Fix this and you've gone a long way to fix the problems of crime and homelessness in our state, a real long way.
It was the state Republican party when the crook Hubbard was a bigshot in it that started killing the mental health care of our state. Now that they have the power they need to repair all the damage they did.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I do not hate cops, sheriffs or departments. My brother was killed in a jail cell. He was in for public intoxication. He was asleep in the back seat of a friends car. They asked him to step out and arrested him. Multiple witnesses said he was running his mouth at the jailer. The jailer choked him to death. My father looked at the body and recognized the marks of the choking. Other inmates confirmed what happened but were scared for their own safety and wouldn't testify. They all had the same story to us. I gotta admit. I had a straight up hard case of the hates for law enforcement for a while. The officer who did it and the chief that covered it up. They settled a lawsuit. I was pissed. Refused the money.
I wanted the cop dead and the chief ruined. Both eventually got just that. Both were dirty. Both crossed the wrong folk.
I was able to grow out of that hate and learn to forgive. I didn't blame them all. But I had a strong distaste for all of them. No trust.
I developed trust down the road, but never made bones about putting a cop in their place when they acted stupid (I was in the fire service and interacted daily. I made a few friends of the good ones.
Are some departments dirty? Absolutely and there is no shortage of proof of that. Lots of shady shit I've witnessed over the years.
Fire department has them too. As does ever profession on earth. But I do try to not lump them all into the same group. That's not right either.
I make exceptions on certain demographics. Some demographics of society are almost exclusively dirty and rotten. And those groups sometimes infiltrate good organizations.
Character is not developed in moments of temptation and trial. That is when it is intended to be used.

You got your thoughts as I got mine. I get where you’re coming from, I really do. But I got my Opinion and it is what it is. His opinion is EXACTLY the same as your's, but he is just telling you that the court doesn't work on opinion only on proof. It isn't worth the cops time to push, because the DA isn't going to take the case with no definitive proof. 100% BS. We all agree. Post some "Have you seen this man" flyer around the places that he visits. Stole guns from grandpa with dementia and pawned them for $. There is video proof the boy pawning the guns at pawn shop, pawn shop owner even called the law and told em he done it before we reached out to the law. they got the boys phone and went through it where he was discussing getting stuff from my paw paws place. He stole truck loads of stuff from there, not just guns. He is on probation and pawned guns, has proof of other stuff he stole in his cell phone. And NOTHING was done about it. They just cut him loose and said, didn’t have enough to “charge” him for it. People can defend that all they want to. But not me, no sir not me. But bet your azz if I went to his house, and beat em like he needs to be beat, break his bones in his hands and ear notch him so he’s marked for life. They gonna throw me under the jail. The law picks and chooses what rules they follow and can get away with it. Americas biggest cartel is what it is. That's a buncha shit 000... Them assholes (P.D.) done you in on this one, and everyone in here knows it....This kinda crap really chaps my ass...SMDH

I'm not sure if everyone realizes that most criminals have some sort of mental illness I will have to call bull on that one. The meth heads that steal and rob around these parts don't have a mental illness, they just have a lack of fear of consequences. If you give them something to be afraid of, they will steer clear of you. That's all they understand.
The true mark of a man is not how he conducts himself during times of prosperity, but how he conducts himself during times of adversity.

PSA has 200 rounds of Federal 115 9 mil ammo for $49.99 today. You are your own first responder.Police are for the afterwards not the before wards. Scotus has ruled police have NO responsibility for individual safety just the collective as a whole. Carry.Train. tote them extra magazines just going to the corner store and make sure to get the hits. If we as a society would drop these fools like ice in summertime jails would empty this foolishness would stop and undertakers would smile more. Don't miss.

Yall do realize that what most police departments pay officers? I can tell you they are not getting the cream of the crop. Most, not all, only give as much as they are getting paid. Then you have the ones that try to do it right because they want to help people and wants to enforce the laws fairly without prejudice. Those officers are always overshadowed by the POS “officers”. There’s this thing we call the THIN BLUE LINE!! It’s where an officer of any department or agency has another officer’s back. However there is some who try to cover the bad officer’s backs. That’s not what most LEOs stand for. Nobody ever talks about the good stuff officers do. That crap is boring. It it my opinion that in OOO’s case there was ample evidence to initiate an investigation. Serial numbers or not.

LEOs are no different than any other profession. Most are really good, a few are excellent, but there are some bad ones. The best ones are following a calling and get paid no where near what they are worth. God bless those.

The best ones are following a calling and get paid no where near what they are worth. God bless those. The only problem is that the bad LEO has the ability to ruin lives. The bad Walmart cashier might ruin your day. The consequences are too high to tolerate bad LEO'S but the profession still has plenty. A good psych evaluation would virtually eliminate the types not suited for the job but they don't want to spare the expense. The expense of continuing to allow those with little man syndrome and the thug mentality is much higher than the expense of weeding them out on the front end, Imo.
