Dang! just Dang! I agree there are some real pricks in Law Enforcement out there. There are a lot of unknowns in many of the cases that is being complained about here. What I wish is that it should be a requirement that every American successfully complete a course in Constitutional Law and the basic rights/authority and duties of a Law Enforcement officer. Most have no idea what a city cop, Deputy, State or a Game Warden can and cannot do.

For a starter: In Alabama if they do not witness the crime, they cannot make a warrantless arrest except for domestic violence, felonies, violating protection orders and such.

I always would tell folks, when they saw me and said, "there's the law", I would say I'm not the law, the law is written in a book and I'm here to tell you what the book says. If you don't like the book, then contact your legislators.

Having said that, after more info was added to the original post, it does appear at the very least a charge of receiving stolen property could've been used.

As for the others, not enough info given but does appear a little leg work by the popo could be a big help.

If they write tickets, then they're harassing folks for petty crimes.

If they work a case and can't get the evidence, they're sorry no good tax collectors.

I have a book you all should read, The Tactics of Criminal Patrol. Would open your eyes to working traffic and why they really do it.

It takes a District Attorney to prosecute and a Judge to pass sentence. The only power the popo have is to arrest you. If the District Attorney won't prosecute or the Judge won't pass sentence, then what are you gonna do.
