I am kinda settling on getting a 48V golf cart to use around house and for hunting. My land is NOT very hilly, and won't drive more than a mile or so per day. It may sit for 3 weeks between uses.

Any reason to get a side by side over a golf cart.

FYI - the thing running EVERYTIME I get in it is very important to me.
Going fast is way down on my list.

Golf cart with lithium battery. Make aure it has a slight lift, good tires, built-in charger. Back seat that converts to a flat bed is nice. A small led light bar is also good to have. You cannot go thru mud like you could with a side x side, so plan accordingly. I use mine to retrieve my deer. As long as I can get close to the deer, I put a rope, attached to the rear of the cart , around the deers neck and drag it to the house. No lifting required. I'll be 78 in September so you can bet that I try to hunt where I can get my cart to the kill zone. Manual Labor and I don't get along anymore!

I love not having gas to worry with. I have one that is @20 years old. Not many parts to deal with and we use it every day to check the cows. It is lifted and has the knobby tires and will go pretty good in wet areas. The thing is high on top with the windshield and all so don’t plan on going under many low limbs! I usually set mine to charge about every 3 days-just out of habit. I have ran it completely down on charge before when we first got it. Grandkids love it and I had no clue they had been on it as long as they had.

It won’t go like a 4 Wheeler but it’s not supposed to. My ATV is what we use to get deer out of the woods with. The golf cart just can’t get where the ATVs can. The Side by Sides can’t go where an ATV can either in my experience. Once you get a golf cart or a S by S stuck, you will remember not to do it again.

Main reason I'd say is ride quality. Outside of a Bad Boy Buggy and Polaris EV I have never ridden in an electric cart that didn't beat you to death. Even the BBB doesn't ride as good as modern day SxS's with independent suspension.

That is my experience also. I don’t ride on my son’s golf cart for that reason. I call it a wagon! Because of the ride.

I saw your other post and thought I would comment on the ride quality. I doubt any golf cart is going to ever ride as well as a SxS with independent suspension, but it's certainly possible to get one to ride decently. It doesn't sound like you are going to be using it for long drives, so I think it's very possible for you to get by with a cart.

I have a 2008 EZGO that rides very well. It's no problem to run 30 mph on dirt roads with it, and I am a guy with so much back trouble that I have a neurostimulator in me. This cart is lifted and has a heavy wooden bed on it, but the main reason it rides well is that it still has all the original springs on it.

I have another cart that rode decently until a rear spring broke. When I took it apart I found a front spring was also broken, so it got all new springs. That cart often hauls several people and maybe a deer or 2 in the back, so getting HD springs seemed smart, but it was a real bad idea. It rides so stiff now that I can seldom get over 10 mph. We don't drive it very far so I am just going to live with it, but the whole problem with the ride is in the HD springs. I suspect that the people complaining about the ride quality of a cart have been in those with HD springs, as that is a common upgrade on off-road carts. Don't do it is my advice; the OEM springs are strong enough and will have a much better ride.

Plaza golf cart has some deals on golf carts now or they did a week ago. They got several club cars black in color 2022 model amd they letting them go $3600-3800. Extremely cheap. Get it lifted with mud tires. I got a real old club car i use for golf only i paid $2500 for used. The 2022 like new. I had a buddy take an electric cart and put mud tires on it years ago - he road by me hunting one day - sounded like freakin wind blowing - nice

I like my polaris - just loud - it can sit for long stretches. But i do not run my golf cart for 2-4 months in winter - it always starts up

I agree with this 100%. When I did my cart build, I installed HD springs front and rear. Big mistake!! I've lived with it, but I should change it back to stock springs. Our daughter has a lifted cart with stock springs and it rides much better.
