My wife is 48 and has started the perimenopause symptoms. Her doctor don’t think that’s what it is but it’s all lining up.
She has been approaching peri before now... it's a slow burn likely to get ramped up here in the next year. This is about the time some pounds started piling on for me... and I was a newlywed (didn't help he is an awesome cook!) so I felt rather out of control. Peri + being happy or depressed = weight gain. Dammit!
My experience is that lifting weights is one natural way to try to even out the hormone unbalances. And trust me, this is not some glamorous solution, I could not hate the thought of it more, but it does many things in the body, all beneficial. And bonus, you're not so self conscious to hide your arms (or other things) during the summer!
I came back here for the comments and I am not disappointed!
