My thoughts exactly. I had to go over there for work about 3-4 summers ago. I had never been to the beach there before and I figured I’d enjoy it some when I was off work. I even requested a waterfront room. Biggest disappointment. I took one look at it and never glanced at it again, except to take a pic and show the wife how nasty it was.

??? I am not understanding the comments on the beaches??? Mississippi has very nice man made beaches. Just shitty water, literally… lol.

All joking aside MS has some very nice natural beaches on the barrier islands, but they are only accessible by boat. The beaches being discussed here are on the Sound and not the Gulf.

For sure make the trek to Pascagoula to go to bozos. Best fresh fried seafood on the gulf coast.

There is a reason that folks from Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi vacation on Alabama and Florida panhandle beaches.

It’s not a bad spot to spend a few days. Just don’t expect it to be like the water in the other side of Mobile bay. Not everyone needs white sand and blue water. Just ride up and down the river and you will see. One thing about Ocean Springs and Biloxi this time of year is you don’t have to put up with the tourists. There’s good food and pretty sunsets all over that area. And downtown Ocean Springs is a lot of fun. Just go with the attitude that it isn’t FL and you will be fine.

The beaches are not anywhere close to what they were when I was a kid. We used to go and spend the day down there. Besides going wade fishing or floundering at night occasionally I don't go to the beach for any reason.

If it works out that you will be down Thursday or Friday, holler at me.

If you end up going, drive to Pascagoula to Edd’s Drive in and get a chili cheeseburger and milkshake

I grew up in Ocean Springs and my parents and Sister still live down there. The beaches are not your typical beach with clear water. We just used them for fishing, 😂

Popp's Ferry is Biloxi but Brooklyn's is in a strip mall in Gulfport. It's fantastic. All the pizza places down there serve Catalina or French dressing in squirt bottles to put on your pizza. I have no clue how that got started but it's actually good.

First time I went to a pizza place away from home, I was wondering why there was no french dressing on the table…
