I lived in Biloxi for several years. If you are going down there for the beach...don't. The beaches are awful: brown water, no waves, calf deep as far as you can walk, bad pollution, especially after it rains. If you are set on going, Ocean Springs has the best of the beaches unless you want to take the ferry to Ship Island. It's a long haul but might be worth checking out.
There is great fishing in the area.
Now, the food in the area is as good as the beaches are bad. Skip Mary Mahoneys. It has coasted on its reputation for years and was hit with felony charges for misbranding seafood from Africa and India as fresh from the Gulf. Also skip The Shed BBQ. It is terrible. Murky Waters BBQ is much better. Some of the best spots to eat are:
The Blind Tiger Steve's Marina Jourdan River Steamer (middle of no where but come hungry) Brooklyn's Pizza Samurai Sushi For a Fancy Night Out: White Pillars, Vestige
Not sure if they still do it but Miss Audrey's Southern Kitchen used to do an all you can eat seafood buffet on Friday. Holy mackeral that was good food.

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.
My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

I see y’all beat me to posting about Mary Mahoney's. Here is what happened for those who might not have heard about it. To be clear, A LOT of restaurants sell this imported stuff. Most just don’t lie about where it comes from, not anymore anyway! Edit: forgot to add my recommendation. If Pascagoula/Moss Point works as a location, Blackwater Restaurant is a good place to eat and definitely not a tourist trap. As well as Bozo’s. Bozo’s is as far from a tourist trap possible and a visit should be on everyones Miss Gulf Coast bucket list.

Mary Mahiney’s is good. I would rather eat at Parrain’s Cajun cooking than any other place around Biloxi. It is a true hole in the wall place with authentic Cajun food. Their white chocolate beignets bread pudding is fantastic. It is located about a block north of the Beau Rivage.

Parrain's is temporarily closed as of back in April....looking for a new location to reopen and originally planned to reopen in early June but haven't yet.

The weather was nice. I got approached by three different lot lizard looking snaggle toothed leather skinned creatures in bikini tops and cut-off daisy dukes. One was on a bicycle doing donuts between the traffic hollering all kinds of strange things and stopping every five seconds to dig in her purse for something that looked like tic-tacs.

Ocean Springs is the best move if you are headed to the MS coast.

You will be disappointed at the MS beach. Singular. I hear Ocean Springs is really cool... and eat at Mary Mahoney's in Biloxi. But not much will "draw" me to MS coast.

Always enjoyed Cafe’ New Orleans crawfish etouffee I’d help shoot team and individuals at biloxi so he’d treat there. We’d joke about it al the time. He did pay me but that was the bribe. We were shooting keesler the first time I saw the beach. Disappointed to say the least. But the folks from Illinois shotgunning the whiskey made up for it. Lol.
If the wind quit or wasn’t strong there were these bugs that’d eat you alive. Worst part about that trip. It was usually 3-4 times a year I was bribed.
Been a few since I’ve been down

Yup Right at the pier. It was washed away during Katrina and they trucked in what they called sand but it was brown as chit. The water is brown and was told to go on the other side of the island to see clear water. I’m thinking they said the beach ended up washing away.
It was there that day Greg our contact lived closer to there and Jim Cantore broadcast the Katrina aftermath in his yard and much made Greg a little ill. Half the streets in Biloxi is named after Greg’s kinfolk He’s quiet the character

We (3 or 4 families with 2-4 kids each) used to vacation in Biloxi, when it was in its hey-day. The best and cleanest the beaches ever looked was still dirty sand (‘74/‘75ish). Ocean Springs is a really cool place. My wife’s girls’ trip crew rented a house that furnished a golf cart to use. They rarely went far enough to get in a car and did plenty of shopping and really good eats for a long weekend.

Eat at Mary Mahonys in biloxi. I thought for sure that place wouldn’t survive after being caught lying about the fish they were selling.
