I took a shot this week. Texted "hey beautiful". Been the best three days I have had in a while!

In college Shot a 6 point running wide open across pasture at 150 yards - cut a flip - neck shot. In high school jumped doe in pine thicket - prob only 30 yard shot - threw up and blew out her shoulder - was lucky to even get scope on her in young pine thicket

On the river fishing years ago, we always kept guns on the boat.
A Wood Duck came down the river about 100mph. I dropped my fishing pole, grabbed my shotgun, swung and dropped him in the river. Buddy just said, I can't believe what I just saw!
Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.
My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

Hit a coon right in the back of the head across a dry lake at about 50yds with iron sights using a Remington .22 and iron sights
Cut the corner of dogleg par 5 a slight draw and wound up about 5 yards from the green. Probably 4 putted.

1. Shot a pigeon out of the rafters in an aircraft hangar at Pope AFB, NC with my bow. Our shop was in the hangar and we were on night shift. We'd bring our bows in and had a target butt hid away and flung a few when things slowed down. Talk about bend at the waist in the opposite direction.
2. First deer I killed with a bow was a little spike at 28 yards. The Muzzy left a nice 3-bladed hole in the heart.

3 running shots on bucks. One was close and the other two were several hundred yards
That was before progressive glasses and eye hand coordination was still good. I’ve made numerous waterfowl shots that the other guys got excited. I was pretty good at throwing a 4th shot at a distance on ducks flying away. One Canada goose at 70-80 years with No3 shot hand loads. I was shooting cleanup behind a youth. Shooting after he’d fired all of his shots. Same on youth dove hunts.
These days i suck at it with an occasional hit.
Years ago there was a rumor i shot a dove flying with a 22

Back when I was in trade school I was really shooting a lot. Shotgun was my specialty but I was also exceptionally talented with handguns. I had a Springfield XDS long slide. It was a 4” model. I loved it! Me and that thing bonded. After a little coaching I could hit clays at 100 yards with it pretty easily. One day at school a buddy asked me about the gun and I said yeah I shoot clays at 100 with it he called BS. So I offered a wager. Lunch time we will go to the range. If I can hit 4 out of 5 clays at 100 yards with my pistol you owe me $50. He agreed gladly! Word got around and a few of us wound up going to the range to observe the goings on. Behold I took my first shot barely missing the mark and ol boy knew then he messed up. I hammered the other 4 clays collected $50 and grinned ear to ear for a week!! Ol boy at work got to talking about shooting skeet at lunch one day, and a new engineer they had just hired worked his way into the conversation. My buddy (we will call him Randy to protect the innocent) got to talking about how he was king of the dove field and he would kick anyone's ass that shot against him. He kept prodding the new kid and asking him if he shot and the kid would just say "A little" and continue to eat his sandwich. After another 20 minutes of ribbing and trash talking, Randy asked him if he was any good and the kid said he could hold his own. Randy told him he had 5 fresh Benjamins that said he would embarrass him. The kid smiled and said "Ok.... where we doing this". They chose some place in Anniston and the time was the next Saturday morning. A couple of us wanted to watch the show so we showed up to check it out. Randy gets out of his truck with an old tattered gun case and pulls out an old ancient Remington 12 gauge shotgun that he'd been shooting dove and rabbits with since he was a kid. The engineer kid showed up and got out of his truck and Randy asked him what he was going to shoot with. He told Randy he thought it he should at least make it fair and decided to shoot his .410 causing Randy and some of the others to erupt in laughter. The kid goes back to his car and pulls out a little fancy leather shotgun case and puts it on the tailgate of Randys truck and opens it up and pulls out a $9000 Merkel .410 shotgun. That kid proceeded to wipe the floor with Randy and his rabbit gun. I don't think I've ever laughed so hard in my life as I did that morning. Turns out that kid was one of the Top 5 skeet and trap shooters in the United States at the time.

The landowner that I hunt her property, told me to shoot every coyote i see. The last day of hunting season, i stopped by her house to tell her i was finished for the season. We were on back porch that overlooks her hay field. We see a coyote way off at bottom of field, she says can you shoot it, I said that's a long shot, but I'll try. I used the railing from back porch, took aim and shot, but i shot low and coyote started to run off and she says shoot it, so i aim higher and lead it a little and shot it in the spine. It was right at 400 yards.
Is it Hunting Season Yet?

Shooting skeet one day years ago. My buddy said throw one and I’m gonna shoot it with my pistol. I did he missed. I said heck throw me one. I had a charter arms snub nose 38. He threw it i shot and nicked it enough to knock a chunk off of it and make it change directions. We all hollered. He went to load another for me to shoot and I said heck naw. Far as you know I’m a bad man with this pistol

I killed a fly with a Benjamin Sheridan 20 cal from 25 yds when I was 13-14. I was shooting targets I made on the computer in computer class and it landed on it. I shot it and wings and guts were all that was left. Couldn’t do it now but I did once.
Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

2014 at Jim Watson’s shooting party in Catherine, AL. No range finders allowed, one sand bag, and you had five seconds to shoot once you looked through the scope. I lost the last round which was shooting a penny that was screwed to an old fence post at at a little over four hundred yards. I hit the edge of the penny, but the other guy drilled it. I was around 38 BPM’s

I’ve got two great kids so figure it out.
Now involving weaponry, I’d have to think on it but pretty sure it would involve a bow and arrow.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

When I lived at home daddy raised chickens. We had a hawk that took up residence and was catching the small chickens. Daddy told me the hawk had to go so I kept my Browning BAR in the truck for several days trying to get a shot. One morning when I driving to the orchard the hawk was sitting on a fence post watching for the chicks. I stopped and rested the gun on the window and was about to fire when he took off flying. I kept a bead on him and when he leveled out about 150 yards away I shot. The hawk went end over end. Killed with a 30-06. No witnesses but God. Probably my most improbable shot of all times.
I can't stand a thief.

My cousin and I were fishing on the Warrior years ago and there was an armadillo about 75 yards straight up a steep ass hill. I had my Ruger Single Six .22 with me. I pulled it out and he said “Ain’t no way in hell. I’ll kiss your ass if you hit it”. I took aim and smoked him. He balled up and rolled all the way down into the river. Turned and looked at my cousin and he had this shocked look on his face. He said “Well, I ain’t kissing your ass”. It was a pure luck shot.

killed a buck in Greene Co at 625 yards with a 270Win. Killed another at 550, same gun.
Killed a gobbler running at 2 yards, neck shot. Hole had meat/feathers on both sides of it.
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

Coyote hunting around 25 yrs ago sitting on one edge of a pasture over an electronic call a scout crow lit in a treetop on the opposite side of the pasture so being bored I cracked off a shot at him with my 22/250. He fell right out of the tree. Right at 350 yards. It was one lucky shot, and to top it off I decapitated him.
Hunting in south AL one year with some guys on here I was sitting in a shooting house when I heard something walking behind me in the woods. Thinking deer, I eased around and peaked out the door that I had to open to look out of. Coyote, sneaking down an old log road maybe 30 yds from me and he had stopped in his tracks being suspicious. With a heavy Remington 870 scoped slug gun I turned myself around and was facing the door easing it open to see with my foot hoping he would walk on by for a better shot. Nerves got the better of him and he turned around to head back where he came from so I just kicked the door open and threw a hail mary his way as he bolted and I smoked that chicken thieven sucker. It was a straight up point and shoot as there was no looking thru the scope for him. Pure luck.
Last one. My brother and I were creek bank fishing when we were teens, and we always carried our .22 Marlin with us. Where we were fishing there was someone's foam type bobber drifting in the wind on a broken line dangling from a tree across the way. Being bored waiting on the fish to bite I challenged my brother on who could shoot the bobber. 3 shots each. I ended the challenge first shot. My brother brings that up regularly 40 years later calling me the luckiest sucker he ever met. I always quip back you gotta make your own luck.
On the flip side of all that the biggest Buck that ever passed by me I straight out missed at about 40 yards during Tenn muzzleloader season 7/8 yrs ago. Folks always say yep, nerves got you, but I tell them I didn't get a chance to be nervous. He ran by, I whistled as loud as I could to stop him, and he did. Perfect broadside. Pull trigger and he just flat out slow walked away from me. I was in disbelief. I always say since I was up a tree and pointing downward at him my bullet had to have rolled out the end before I fired. Lol.

I shot a flying turkey in the neck... with a borrowed 30/30. We ate it for Thanksgiving dinner that day on our family farm. I made all of my cousin's call me Dead-Eye Dick for a year. It may have been luck, but I shot it on purpose and I hit where I aimed.

I shot a bobcat left handed with my right eye moving to the right? Next was a nice eight point running toward me and then away from me down a skid trail, about 50 yards each way, with a lever action 30/30. Found a hole in his ear that look one of my my shots?

Was sitting in a shooting house back in January and I was glassing two shooting lanes about 35 yards wide about 400 yards long at 90 degree angles from each other. A little doe had been running in/out all morning and a couple other bucks were in/out of the woods. I was sitting up on a hill and one shooting lane ran along the top of a ridge and the other down and across a river bottom. I was glassing the Ridgeline and turned and saw a big bodied deer paused in the shooting lane down across the river bottom. That morning had a lot of fog and so all I could tell was that his body was huge. I put up my rifle, found him in the scope, saw he was 2" outside the ears, put the croshairs 2" under the top of his back and squeezed it off. I heard the smack and he ran off in the woods and I heard awful thrashing around. Found him oiled up in some palmettos about 12 steps back in the woods. Perfect heart shot. Could not have been any better if you drew a dot on a picture of him. I ranged him at 282yards from where i shot him. The whole thing happened in 7-10 seconds from the time I saw him to when I pulled the trigger.
