Grok.
Might be some truth to it. Lots of stuff interacts like that with other substances. You can take a backpack sprayer with diesel and lightly spray fresh laid, finished, properly compacted asphalt and it’ll breakdown completely and just fall apart. Then again, that same asphalt will fall apart all by itself if the prep is crappy too

If they just made it flat concrete and stocked it with the right kind of fish then it would keep itself clean and be a lot more interesting. Heck, they could have a national Presidential bank fishing event there every year. Turn it into a get outdoors kind of thing.

Its just video glyphs from compression. Those bicycle people make a lifestyle of getting in the way of regular folks.

Once they get done with the illegals, they need to round up all the cyclist and send them to CECOT or Botswana or anywhere but here.

Algae can be fixed. My opinion is that it was a rush job and not properly prepped. That stuff they used is good if applied properly

Not a chemist and haven’t slept in a holiday inn in years, gotta agree with beer belly, how much hydrogen peroxide would it take to screw up the chemistry of 6.75 million gallons of water?

I hate cyclists almost as much as I hate Trump but according to the article he was cycling by it and saw a piece of floating liner and reached in to grab the dislodged piece of liner and was quickly arrested.

I’m pretty sure that in Washington DC there are surely some cameras around that thing, overlooking it as well. We’ll see eventually if he actually did anything or if he is just a convenient scapegoat for the farce of a project.

I'll believe the news when they start reporting the news.
They've reported more on the reflecting pool than they did the Somali Fraud in Minnesota, The rape gangs in England or a number of other more important issues.

It doesn't help that all the news people live in Washington DC either.

This is a grasping at straws CYA attempt to deflect from this terribly executed project.

Reading the comments on that post, some are saying he reached in and picked up a piece that was floating/had already delaminated.
What they’re calling vandalism, a reasonable objective non hyper partisan individual could call litter removal as the piece was floating,
.

Sounds like they figured it out. Trump says vandals cut a 250 foot section of the liner and put chemicals in the water. Glad they figured out the problem
