I go by feel. As soon as the silks start turning brown I start feeling it. The husk will get tight and you’ll feel kernels all the way to the top. I picked about 50-60 ears today that were ready. I’d normally wait another 2 days and most of the patch would be ready to pick but I have a coin that found it. It’ll be back with buddies I’m sure. Sweet corn will change fast this time of the year. 2-3 days make a big difference. If I remember tomorrow I’ll take some pictures of what I’m talking about.
