Trying to vertically grow squash and zucchini this year. Just got home and the wind has blown 2 of my squash completely over severing the whole damn stalk. This will be my last year planting squash if I don't have any success this year.

I did vertical last year and this. Last year I used wire tomato cages. Squash break easy on them. This year I used PVC cages I made myself. And the squash aren't growing well for some reason

I have never grown squash vertically. We just plant about 5’ apart and let them spread in the ground. This year has been a bumper crop for squash! I have no idea how many pounds we have already picked.

My tomatoes were a disaster. I don’t really know what hit them but it may be chemical. I have another spot I am going to be planting in about 3 weeks for a fall crop on tomatoes. We want to put up as much tomatoe juice as we can and so far we have not put up a single ounce of juice.

Blackberries were loaded. We picked about 50# ourselves and gave this much away. It was the first crop and I got the idea from JWalker. I am well pleased with the blackberries. My grapes are also loaded! All varieties are loaded to the gills both red and whites. I hope for a great harvest starting Labor Day.

Bell, Cayenne, and Jalapeño peppers are all doing well they are just now starting to put on a bunch of peppers. I even planted some beets and they have done well also. Cucumbers are about to come in now so we will see how they do. All is good except the tomatoes.

I’m not a tomato guy, but my family likes them, mine are doing great. I’m getting about 7-8 a day off of 12 plants. Tons of green ones.
They get sun until about 15:00. I planted these in the ground with an old bed sheet around them to keep the weeds out and moisture in.
Terrible year for blueberries. 10% of what we usually have. Had to be the late frost.

I'm doing the same. The ones I have are not doing well. Not sure if it's rain or what. Last years were 4x as big and producing by now.

However, the suns path over my garden is at least a few degrees different than last year. I'm thinking that has more to do with it than anything.

our best guess is all the rain in May & then super dry in June - had one to die at the roots & our other 2 plants just don’t look good

Same here. Tomatoes ain't too happy either.

My tomatoes are splitting from all the rain. For some reason my sweet corn is tasseling way before time. Never had that happen, not sure whats up with that

I'm near ready to go put plastic covers on my cages to try to shed even a little rain. Damnit man, my garden was booming. Now I got all kids of issues. The only good thing is most of mine is in grow bags and sheds excess. It's not sitting in puddles but the ground is staying saturated and impacting mineral absorption

My garden is doing excellent but my house fire chores has me tied up

Been a good year for my garden in Huntsville

I counted about 30 tomatoes left on the determinate plants. We have removed about 1/3 of the determinates that have petered out. I replaced them with seedlings today. Seedlings aren't really seedlings. I planted too soon and they are about 12" to 15" tall. I planted them deep for better root development. I did three batches. One early that we've already harvested. One a little later and working on the last batch now. So we will get a total of 3 harvests of determinate.

I decided to stop fooling with the other varieties and just did Hossinators this last time. I really like there durability. Less blossum end rot on them. No splitting. No disease. Really durable.

Beans and tomatoes are severely lacking in producing

That's a nice looking garden. Much more room than I have.

Okra is just now producing. Green beans have been so-so
No squash yet. Just male blooms. Kinda disappointing.

All the rain has destroyed my squash and zucchini plants. just started some more to hopefully get another round going. Good looking garden 300gr, I like the plastic and no weeds!

after a slight delay we got the 6 new squash plants in our raised bed - the 2 old squash plants literally had no roots

Worst year in a long time with my Maters. Peppers did good though.
