No actual body shop wants to do paint jobs anymore. They want insurance work. I have a niece whose dad is a great auto painter. I have a 96 2 door Tahoe that needs zero body work. I offered him 6 grand to give me a quality paint job. I haven’t gotten a response back. I believe it. I have a 08 Sierra that has some oxydation on the hood and roof. None of the sides or bed have any (yet). Stopped by a body shop and asked for a quote. $5700. That was insane. Looking into just have the hood and roof color matched and wrapped. Not sure if that is possible but it got to be cheaper than that.
I love my country, but don't trust my government.
