The spectacle was much better than I expected. So I'll soften my stance somewhat. The Marine Band is fantastic and brought some real class to the event. The historical perspective and honoring of 250 years of warriors was special.

Ilia Topuria found out last night what the difference is, between a featherweight and a lightweight. Ilia was a big guy in the featherweights but is a small guy in the lightweights. I'll be the first to say that I figured Topuria would win it (younger, more technical) and was shocked at the outcome, but size matters in fighting and Gaethje was the much bigger fighter and it showed. I did not realize how small Topuria is. Gaethje probably walks around at 185-190 and cuts to 155. Topuria probably walks around at 165-170 and cuts to 155. Big difference. Topuria's face, at the end of the night, looked like it had been stuffed into and repeatedly run through a meat grinder. Topuria went straight from the ring to the hospital last night and was still there this morning. He didnt have any quit in him either.

That is the truth. I've watched him several times and he won't quit. I thought he was done in the 2nd round from that liver shot but he hung on and put a beating on Topouria. Heck of a fight.
