Looks like Social Security is going tits up by 2032, hopefully it’ll happen sooner than that and that dreadful program will be history. Signed a millennial paying into a trash program I’ll likely never see a penny from.

It's not going anywhere, just needs to be revamped. If you were 67 or older and retired, you would better understand the need. That is unless you have several million stashed away.

The program isnt going to disappear in 2032, that's just the date when they estimate the piggy bank runs out and the only source of funding is from incoming payroll deductions. At that point, benefits will decrease to an estimated 78% of your entitled benefit.

If you could have invested that money in super conservative securities that they forced you instead to give SS you'd have several million instead of pennies on the dollar. SS was always a government ponzi scheme.

Between devaluation of the dollar and not going to see a penny from Social Security, yes you’re correct I am going to need several million. Thx

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

Signed a millennial paying into a trash program I’ll likely never see a penny from. Being 69 years old and retired, I'll return the sentiment. I hope ALL your investments go belly up and you lose every F'n penny that you invest.

We would all be millionaires if they would invest it smart. They take a chunk out of my check every week. It makes me sick to think about. Bill is 100% right!

When I graduated high school we were told to prepare for social security to be gone by the time we hit 40.

Sounds like you might not have invested too much with that sour sentiment and you’re excessively reliant on Uncle Sam? If my investments go tits up, this country/world will effectively cease to exist, index funds can’t fold, nice try. Do you really think land outside Auburn is going to zero, nice try. Thx

Thx unfortunately for you, at your age, you're going to need a whole lot more than several million by the time you're retirement age. Several million in today's dollars 25-30 yrs from now will be to equivalent to a couple hundred grand in todays dollars.

Thx The entire stock market can fold. It has on several occasions. 79% in 1929 and 54% in 2008 Index funds wont save you if it does it in a big way again. You'll lose just as big as you would if you were in individual stocks. With all the algorithmic trading and computer controlled pre-programmed trade points in today's market, there's actually a better chance of a full blown meltdown and sell-off today, than ever before.

And all they would need to do to fix it is do away with the ceiling on required contributions. Too simple though

If the money is not there that We have all payed into all of Our working lives that has been forcibly taken out of Our checks, I think it is very easy to predict what will happen and it will not be what any of Us want to see- Social upheaval and people will be extremely angry. Out government better figure this out and ensure that the folks who have payed into this gets their benefits from it.
John 3:16: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life".
