It’s been a strange year - a lot of drought and then a lot of rain. But so far pretty dang good - we have more squash and zucchini than we can eat, cucumbers are going crazy, we’ve gotten a lot of peppers and cherry tomatoes. If our better boys make half of the current green tomatoes, we’ll have a bumper crop. We have 4-eggplants that will probably produce 3-5 per plant pretty easily.

The wind was a little tough on some of the plants, but they seem to be OK after staking and tying them back.

Pathetic year for my taters. Dug all of them yesterday. Yella squash is producing like crazy. Pretty much needs to be picked twice daily. Just picked first Tomatoes. Okra, corn and watermelons coming on strong.

I didn't plant anything til May 1st. Everything looks good so far. Banana peppers are going crazy. Gonna try growing my squash vertical this year. Have about 60-70 plants of peaches and cream corn that look good. Never planted corn before not sure if it will work here.

My peppers are doing well. I wouldn't call them loaded, but all producing good size peppers.
My tomatoes are starting to ripen. We are harvesting two or three a day. Most are still green. Maters are loaded. Not sure how many I will have to harvest, but at least 100.
I had to toss 15 or so last week due to blossum end rot. Weird. One plant has 8 or more healthy and one with rot.

Okra is about 2 to 3' tall. One piece of okra so far.

We are already canning cucumbers with different pickle recipes

We are already canning green beans. 5 jars so far

Squash is only producing male blooms. Corn is about 2-3' tall.

Peppers, cucumbers, and squash doing good. Maters, not as well.

Putting up 64 quarts of green beans today

I didn't get and squash last year, plenty of zucchini. I think we had a lot of rain last year and had some fungus issues. Just tied mine to poles.

That’s a lot of work!! I put up 50 pints plus I blanched and vacuum sealed a ton of them. Mostly yellow Cherokee wax beans. We prefer those to the green beans. Do you have a large pressure canner to do that many in a day?

With all the rain my garden has taken a beating, but my zipper peas, corn and cantaloupe are about ready and looking good so far. Squash and zucchini have some fungus issues but still producing.

I have a 14 quart, and 7 quart all american, i keep running alternate. Takes about 8 hours to do about 3 batches each. I love my all Americans

We put up half wax and half green this year, next year do all romas next year

Planted about 1000 sweet potatoes this morning also. Planted pumpkin, sweet potatoes, and north ga candy roasters last year. North ga candy roasters were by far the best. Have a bunch of them planted this year, with my spaghetti squash and butternut

What variety of sweet potatoes did you plant? I’m going to plant some Covington slips I grew if it ever dries up here.

My cucumbers are out of control. Getting 5-7 gallons a day right now. Squash and Zucchini are loading up like crazy. Roma and celebrity tomatoes are ripening finally. Cream peas are vining like crazy and should put flowers on next week. Eggplants and Marconi peppers are loading up right now. Sweet potato slips are ready to be pulled and planted as soon as it dries up enough. 3rd planting of sweet corn is putting out silks. Potatoes and snap beans did good. First planting of okra was crap so I’ll replant when it dries. Also gonna plant purple hulls and black eyes when I’m able to bush hog and till in the corn stalks from the first 2 corn patches. And not to mention all this rain really made me a beautiful crop of grass in some spots of the garden.

Dang, I don't know how you find the time to keep up with all that! What variety of cream pea are you growing? I tried some Mississippi cream peas a couple years ago, but they were a pain to shell. I have since went to zipper peas, but they don't taste as good as the Mississippi creams

Beauregard is a very common variety planted around here commercially. I wanted to order some Orleans but they are out of stock everywhere. Orleans, Beauregard and Covington are the most popular here. We have to keep and eye on em here when they get to about 80-90 days old. They get real big real fast here.
