Go to Walmart to get 2 new front tires for the Honda Accord. It has 1 broken wheel stud on the front on one side, 4 good ones. Sorry sir, we cannot replace the tires on your car until the broken stud is repaired.

The littl money they would have made on your tire job isn’t worth the liability should something go wrong from improper wheel torque

A few years ago they refused to sell me a passenger car tire when I rolled the blown out tire/wheel inside the bay and told them I needed a new tire to go on my tractor hauling trailer. Had to drive a few miles to the next WM and keep my mouth shut. Meanwhile I had parked my trailer with tractor loaded in a vacant lot while doing all these run arounds on a hot Sunday afternoon in August. I was pissed!

Yep it’s called liability. Started with a simple plugged tire several years ago. WM got sued due to the tire blowing out and they lost a big settlement.

Purposely going to Walmart for tires, that's funny. They’re open more hours than any other tire shop, every town has a Walmart, they reinstall with a torque wrench. I wouldn’t take a Porsche 911 to Walmart but your typical A to B daily driver absolutely.
