I did start it because I wasn’t sure if it really was his truck or, I know it’s hard to believe, someone was just goofing around. It’s a dang fine truck and I’m glad he’s able to ride around in a nice truck. I’m also glad that most farmers can ride around in a nice truck also. My truck is old but in my small brain I also ride around in a nice truck. I actually have a better truck now than when I was farming. I refused to by a nice truck because rice farming is hard on a truck. The whole thing on my part is a farmers truck is a tool just like his tractors. However the truck gets used year round on the farm unlike most tractors on a farm where they are used seasonal. So the truck depreciates really fast and after a few years they have no tax value left to them. I’m more concerned about the farmers who pay more in technology fees per year than a what the truck notes are. And when it doesn’t work they’re dead in the water. I would like to know how many actual farmers are on this sight and actually receive government handouts. I know when I was farming we’d get a very small deficiency payment every so often but it didn’t amount to a tank of diesel fuel. Most years when things are “normal”, farmers do ok but not when most of the inputs are more than the price of the crops. I’m not defending farmers getting assistance. I was just wondering what a farmer is driving had to do with him getting assistance. I’d understand if he took the assistance payment and bought a new truck with it. I’d also be pissed. I don’t know any farmers who used assistance payments to buy a new truck. How many of yall know of a farmer that received the assistance payments and actually used it to buy a ew truck?
