Daughter and I caught a mess of bream last week. First ones I have kept in 25yrs. Just fried em up and man were they good. Better than bass or crappie imo. Go get on a good bream bed if you have one nearby and keep you a mess. Not a doctor but pretty sure its good for you to watch a bobber go under a few hundred times in an afternoon!

An old friend has been wanting to go get some for the hot grease. I took him this morning before the rain set in and we got him a pretty good mess of mostly bluegills with a few shellcrackers in the mix. Most of them were plenty big enough to fillet, but he wasn't about to waste any of it. They got scaled, beheaded and gutted instead.

Caught them off the pier. Put them in a cooler with a saltwater slurry and scaled them and fried them an hour later under a pole barn beside the pond with home fries and home made hushpuppies Maybe the best bream I’ve ever cooked We will be doing this again We ate 5 each with sides Those were the leftovers I ate them the next day Just 2 of us if you are wondering how many fried bream per person. We threw the bigger ones back. ![[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]](https://i.postimg.cc/TwwCjhXQ/IMG-8563.png) ![[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]](https://i.postimg.cc/Xvxsydt8/IMG-8562.png)
