People either Love or Hate Trump.. In the sprit of love of my fellow man and compromise, I would propose the Treasury Dept. Give me the first 10 of these $250 dollar bills. Out of respect for the Liberal side and my liberal brothers, I will burn 5 of these bills in Protest of Trump. I will unselfishly keep 5 of these bills Trump bills in support of the current President!! Sometimes you just have to make personal sacrifices!!

For real though, I’m shocked they didn’t make the denomination larger.
They didnt want the inflationary signal to be too obvious. They can say this is about the 250 year anniversary and gaslight it a little longer. Never mind they killed the penny because of inflation. I'm sure you have seen the "rounding" formula sheets posted next to registers in different businesses.

Most places don't want to take a $100 bill so I cannot imaging many places being willing to take a $250 bill. Besides, that just seems like an odd denomination. A $200 or $500 bill would make more sense to me.
I would love to know the truth behind why so many places prefer plastic over cash anyway. Did it start due to employee theft? Was it because public education quit teaching kids how to count money and make change (or quit failing those who could not pass simple math tests)? Just latching on to the big push to more easily monitored transactions with plastic and electronic means?
The small businesses I know all are equally happy taking cash as cards and in some cases prefer cash. The other side of that is that I also know a lot of people who do not carry cash as a regular habit, too.

In our history we have had larger denomination bills, including a $100,000 bill. But these bill were used mainly as a method to transfer money between banks.
It's sad that it's that way too. I neither love nor hate him but form opinions on each of his individual actions. Some things he does I like, some I don't. The problem for people like me is if I express a dislike for something he does, the lovers jump on me and label me a liberal. If I express a like for something he does, the haters fuss at me and label me a worshipper. People either can't or won't look at anything objectively. No one thinks for themselves anymore.

I bet you could ask 1000 people off the street to name the faces on $1, $2, $5, $10, $20, $50, and $100 bills and 999 couldn’t do it. Who gives a shit if Trump has his own bill? I don’t. I doubt I’d ever hold a $250 bill regardless of who was on it. It’s just impractical in most instances in today’s world.
Physical currency will eventually go away - I suspect that in 25-50 years digital currency based on a global exchange will be the primary method of payment for the majority of developed countries and their citizens.
Automatic deposit, debit/credit cards, Apple Pay,…etc are all changing the way we save and spend. Less than 10-years ago we’d keep a few thousand dollars around the house, I would guess if you add up all the change and what we have in our wallets we might have a touch over a hundred. We rarely use cash or checks anymore.

When that happens the illusion of freedom is gone. No more poker games with friends or side bets on a football game or even a charitable donation or loan to a friend that the government can't track. They will control absolutely everything at that point. Because of the business I'm in , the more we go cashless the more money I make but I hope I'm not alive to see cash completely eliminated.
