I don't know about the winchester ranger. Will have to check it out. I know that 9422s' & 39s' are going for a pretty penny. The pawn shop gun for $1100 mentiomed is about what they bring now. I doubt they'll be coming down in price. I know my 9422 was around $350 in 1988 from walter craig in selma. If any company now started making these guns again at the same quality of the older ones, they'd most likely be close to 2g's.
I remember I paid $335 for mine in 95 or 96. I balked on 2 at a flea market not long after they quit making them. Both were magnums and both were priced @ $650. Kicking myself now.
The Ranger I handled looked like the same receiver and bolt design as a 9422. I doubt they are all machined, probably MIM, but it did look a lot like a 9422 and was around $400.
