I’ve known of this show my whole life. Seen an episode or two when I was a kid 30 years ago. But never really watched it. Well I’m half way through season 5, wished I’d watched it 20 years ago. The world needs more little house on the prairie and less Yellowstone IMO.

Good show, but everything was to clean to depict real life in 1870. I get what your saying though as far as television shows go.

I think my wife can recite the lines from that show and I have never watched an entire episode.

My daughter is watching now. I never considered the show as history or documentary. I just saw it as entertainment. Nothing more. Nothing less.
Character is not developed in moments of temptation and trial. That is when it is intended to be used.

If you like Little House on the Prairie, you'll like The Waltons first few seasons and I'm certain that you'll like the Appalachian Storyteller also.

Little House and Waltons were both staples of TV for me growing up. Mash, Hee Haw, Carol Burnette and Lawrence Welk as well.
Animal Kingdom, Wild World of Sports. Can't remember the Disney title. TV was so much better then. No bullshit liberal messages.

I hear what you are saying, but if I'm not mistaken the whole show is based on the actual diaries of Laura Ingalls Wilder, so at least it was all based on true stores as told by the girl herself. I liked Little House on the Prairie and The Waltons. Both based on real life events.

I loved it as a kid, it was right in my wheelhouse. I never watched the Walton’s or Bonanza until later in life. They are all 3 great shows with “morals” at the end of every show. I’d put the Waltons first prob, loved the narration.
