AOC would be popular with the average Dem voter but she won’t get the support of the donor class. You can’t win the Dem primary unless the elite donors support you. They’ll pull a Bernie on her at the convention and tell her to take it with a smile.
The trial balloons will start being released after the midterms are over. By this time next year it will be apparent which candidate(s) the big donors are putting their money behind.
