If you didn’t know, tomorrow is Election Day in Alabama. I say this very sarcastically because of the shear number of text messages I have gotten in the last several weeks. They have switched tactics. At the beginning, they were all about why so and so was the right man for the job and now that it’s crunch time, they have shifted to telling me why the other guy is the Antichrist. My plan was to vote for none of the candidates that have robotexted me, but they all have.

Best one I have received is from some number claiming to be our DA encouraging me to vote for a candidate for another local office. Funny thing is that I’m good friends with our DA and we’ve hunted together for years so I know it wasn’t him. Haha.

I’ve got my local horses picked, but what’s the Aldeer consensus on state level elections?

I just looked at a sample Republican ballot and I recognized one name on the ENTIRE ballet. Tommy Tuberville. I don't know one single other name on the ballet.

Can someone please school me and probably many others, about those that are on there, that would be good, conservative candidates to vote for?

Glad when it’s over. The daum texts and phone messages are terrible. Commercials are AI stupid. Folks never held a gun in their lives are going hunting I guess for the first time.

Good would be a very loose term to describe most of the people on the ballot.

I also get sick of the “strong conservative values” and “family man” claims. And it seems like every one of them grew up on the family farm and knows the value of hard work

Ill be voting pretty much against every incumbent. If they have already held an elected office they are also out.

I'm fleshing mine out now. I haven't had time to really dig into each candidate. I've got a list of those who've spammed me. Automatically voting for someone else if at all possible.

"ALABAMA" WILL SANTIVASCI is getting my vote for Gubnor

Jared Hudson is also getting my vote.

John Wahl

Christopher Horn

Steve Lolley

Derek Chen

Matt Gentry

Brent Woodall

No to any amendments.

The public service commission is important to put people who are not beholden to Alabama Power. They've not been audited properly and we are getting gouged because of it.

For the rest, I'm thinking I need to figure out who the incumbent is and bounce that arse out if possible. That has already been applied to the above names. Not one is in office to my knowledge.

Anyone got any suggestions for other positions?

I can guarantee you none of them broke a sweat like I did today. Not one suffered from swamp ass. I heard a voice today. It was Shrek wanting his swamp back.

The only candidate I actually care to cast a vote for is Jared Hudson.

Vote against all of the incumbents.
Vote against all of the big names.
Vote for the one who never called you.

No Incumbents!

Angelo Fermo is a straight shooter. Both literally and figuratively. He used to work with a friend of mine in Law Enforcement. Baldwin County.

Jerry Carl has my vote also. He's going to be on the appropriations committee if elected.

If they are on my ballot, I'll check those boxes.

For Atty General our DA has endorsed Pamela Casey and our Sheriff has endorsed Katherine Robertson. I need to research more about who is running for that office I think.

And, our Sheriff is up for re-election and there are three other contenders and one is gonna make it a close race I think. But this would be his third term and DoA says it has been several years since the county had a three term Sheriff.

In 1999 one of the most popular classmates I had was murdered by another classmate. In 2013 Pam Casey got justice for Desta. I know investigations are long complicated things with moving parts hours of work checking and rechecking. Pam Casey had that quiet confidence that justice was needed and she sure enough brought closure and 99 years of prison to the offender.

I don't know if it matters to you but I knew Katherine Robertson's father. A lawyer in Selma named Kincey Green and he was a fine man. Sadly, he passed away not too long ago. She grew up in Selma and has a lot of support from people there that have known her all her life. They say the apple didn't fall far from the tree in her case. If I still voted in AL, I'd vote for her.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.
