Now ya'll giving me the itch to make another ink appointment! LOL

I have a full sleeve on my right arm from my shoulder to my wrist and am working on the left arm slowly - it's 50% covered. Nautical sparrows on my chest for all the miles I've sailed back in the military.

I'd love a full back piece, but probably will never do it.

I figured I’d be different and have none. Seems to be in the minority these days to have no tats

I'm just in here before people with tattoos are going to call you an asshole because you don't understand why people get tattoos.
I really don't care if they tattoo their junk but how can you not be able to support your family and throw money on tattoos. Must be like drugs i guess

There are people guilty of bad spending priorities on all kinds of stuff. Booze, drugs, boats, hunting, fishing, sex, gambling, cigarettes, cars, motorcycles, etc... You name it.

You watch your mouth.

I don’t have any but I have always kinda wanted some. My sone has them in his arm down to his wrist. They all have meaning. I don’t mind them. Folks can go overboard and it is unattractive when they do, but I try real hard not to force my preferences onto others. Sometimes I do it without realizing it though.

My son’s wife to be has a small butterfly on her shoulder and the word “Heal” on the inside of her wrist. Neither one is outright visible. She is a heart doctor and both have significant meanings to her. I love the word Heal on her wrist because it shows her desire to help those who are in Dire Straits with life threatening heart issues. These are the ones I understand.

The “prison tattoos” where there are just random spots of ink all over an arm or other body parts are disgusting to me. I just can’t understand these that look like they were made in prison with an ink pen. I just don’t get it. Quality is what I guess I am trying to say. You get what you pay for!

The nose rings are a whole other issue! Those things are flat out disgusting. I was attending an outdoor event in Huntsville and a girl standing in front of us had a ring or something pierced through both nipples. They were visible by their outlines on her tight shirt. She simply wanted everyone to notice them without having to remove her shirt.

I’ve never been committed to something so strongly that I needed it permanently on my body but I understand how some would appreciate tattoos as an art form. Different strokes and all. I can’t understand the mindset of those who get little tattoos that look like the doodles I scribbled on my notebook in grade school all over their body and face. That’s like bright colors on frogs and suggests I should stay away. I can’t take someone seriously if they look like they fell face-first into my tackle box. I actually like the aesthetics of pierced nipples on the female breast but you gotta be careful not to chip your teeth.

Don't have any tattoos but if I were ever to consider one, it would be Christian in nature. When I see a tattoo that reflects one's Faith it makes me smile.

What about real simple treats that look like a 2 year old drew it. I don’t know if they are homemade or some folks can save more than $10 before they go to the shop.

My daughter has some, I can't stand them.

I had a professor at Troy in the early 90's that had a full body suit.

The Offspring

Quote
The 13: The kid specifically asked for a "13" tattoo to look tough, rebellious, or edgy (and in some street circles, '13' also loosely represents marijuana as M is the 13th letter of the alphabet).
The 31: The tattoo artist drew a "31" instead, symbolizing that he really didn't know what he was asking for and came off as a "poser."

Both my sons and my DIL have them. My main objections goes back to the OP. Fine if you have the discretionary income to pay for it, if not then you really should “grow up” and get your priorities straight.

Me neither. It's especially distasteful all over an otherwise attractive young lady, IMHO.

Being raised Pentecostal Holiness, I'll admit it has always been a struggle for me to not judge someone's character, that has tattoos. The more the harsher judgment I would seem to give. I know now that it isn't a sin and have grown much in my relationship with the Lord. I also know some very good people that love the Lord and in some areas of their faith are probably stronger than mine. I still don't like it, but my flesh likes strategically placed tattoos on females sometimes. I feel like such a hypocrite at times but reading Romans 7 reminds me that all of us have the same battle with the flesh. It just may show up in different ways. Being raised though in a belief system to where just about everything was a sin and you were bound for hell. Has taken years to undue the self-righteousness it caused.

That's about as honest as I can be.
