All you need to know: They are very expensive and are guaranteed to fail at some point. Bad ones are not anywhere close to being worth replacing, when you can buy good manual air gauge for $20. I don't disagree with you....but, the counterargument to that is that they're not necessarily for knowing the pressure, but to alert you to a tire that is suddenly and rapidly losing air and potentially on the verge of failure. True, but I'm like Irish. At $120-$150/tire. I'm willing to periodically check them myself and roll the dice while I'm on the road. I've had a bad on on my truck for the past 4 yrs. Yellow light just stays on and I'm not willing to pay the $155 (price quote from 3 yrs ago) to have it fixed. Especially when I can toggle in from the steering wheel and still see the pressures on the other 3 tires.
