Because they dont.
I don't believe dinosaurs ever existed because I have never seen one, but fossils and other evidence tells us otherwise. Fossils and other evidence is a source of truth that regardless of what I might believe, the fact remains that just because I haven't seen a dinosaur they in fact did exist.
The Bible tells us that demons existed and STILL exist, I can't think of a more solid source of truth.
Maybe the guy is crazy, maybe he was doing it for attention, maybe he was possessed - I don't know.
