Thought about a buddy heater. Then read a warning about not sleeping with one on. Likely a lawyer requiring that. Personal think it would be safe. Then I found these and went down that Youtube rabbit hole and think it might be a good move. Like this vvvv mash hereAnybody used a diesel heater?

Wasn't loud. No smoke. Didn't smell. When you turn it on, give it a couple of mins to get going. The muffler gets very hot, careful with running it. You need the muffler vented outside.

Which one did you get? I'm going to leave it all outside and vent the heat inside.

We used a buddy heater in Alaska for 9 days and we survived. We always had some vents open anyway to help keep condensation to a minimum and it worked brilliantly.
We set it in a one of the metal baking sheets in case it got knocked over it wouldnt melt the floor, and we didnt run it while we were sleeping just so we wouldnt accidentally knock it over in the night.
It was great for drying out boots/ clothes, and as it turns out works great as a toaster too! we were in a 6 man Instinct Alaskan guide tent and it got it plenty toasty in there.

Buddy heater. Did not help a lot on a 25 degree night but better than nothing. Big Buddy might do better and they’re supposed to be tent safe. I do crack a tent window or 2 for ventilation. But they have low oxygen sensor. I also leave 20lb tank outside.

I used a buddy heater in my canvas tent all winter and I didn't die. We didn't die from a lack of oxygen but we nearly froze to death. The tent was 10X20, lol. That buddy heater never stood a chance. That vevor diesel heater would likely work well.

If you're going to use a buddy heater, get a CO detector and keep it near you. Also, from a lot of youtube videos I've watched, the big downside to the buddy heaters is moisture/humidity/condensation. Using a diesel heater outside negates that

If I'm in the woods I run a wood stove with carbon monoxide and smoke detectors if I'm not too lazy. If set up at the campground, I run the buddy heater before bed and when I wake up to kill the chill. I often just sleep in my ZERO degree bag and don't worry about it. A good sleeping bags a better purchase than a heater IMO. I sleep in summer weight tents or the back of my truck at times with my softopper with temps in the high teens in just my bag with no issues. It's just cold on pp breaks lol
