My daughter has run several.100 mile races. I paced her several times. Once 18 miles in the mountains. That was tough. The normal person doesn't have the discipline required to run these races IMO. Ive run off and on most of my life and I would never try a 100 mile race, much less a 250 mile race. The normal person doesn't have the discipline to take a parking place at the end of the lot and walk a little further. Endurance athletes are a rare breed.

Feel for her husband. Imagine being married to someone stubborn enough and crazy enough to run 250 miles. Poor guy never wins an argument.
Kudos to her accomplishment but I sincerely hope I’m never stricken with the desire to run an ultra. Nailed it.

She won the race's women's division the last two years, as well, and set the women's record last year. So she's a three-time champ. She took the lead this year at about mile 40-50 and never relenquished it, finishing five miles ahead of the runner-up (who was last year's winner). She's won about a dozen 100-mile events and a bunch of 50-mile, 100K and 50Ks, too.
She's a hell of an athlete and good person. Ultras are fun to do.

Just read this:
During the 56 hours she was racing, Entrekin slept only three times, for 5 minutes, 7 minutes, and 7 minutes, all on the dirt.
Wow!
The left lane is for the the purpose of moving the flow of traffic forward regardless of the speed limit. If your impeding the flow of traffic get your ass in the right lane. It's really that simple...
