I’m getting back into a compound bow after shooting a crossbow for several years.

My favorite release was a Scott Rat, but for the life of me I can’t find it. I’m sure I’ll find it in the bottom of a storage box right after I buy a new one.

What are suggestions for a hunting release?

I like the Spot Hog Wise Guy and the Stan Solex. There’s a lot of good releases out there.

I compete and hunt with a resistance activated or pull thru release. it took me 2 yrs to master it.
I would definitely try a t handle release. the reason for that is with a t handle u can get much more solid rear and front anchor.

I haven't been involved in archery for a few years like I used to be, but I'm still using a Carters Big Kid 3D from about 1995. It's still crisp and clean to this day. In release mileage, it's been around the world a few times.

I got a question for ya. Shooting the tension release while hunting. What do you do if you need to punch the trigger for a fast shot? Or basically is it you never need to shoot quick enough to punch the trigger?

You can command shoot it if you need to.
