I heard where a long distance runner had most of her toenails surgically removed.

It be's that way sometimes.

The normal person doesn't have the discipline to take a parking place at the end of the lot and walk a little further. Endurance athletes are a rare breed.

Yup

I try and park away from the door and on my walk in will see folks making another swing around

Kudos to her accomplishment but I sincerely hope I’m never stricken with the desire to run an ultra.
Nailed it.

She won the race's women's division the last two years, as well, and set the women's record last year. So she's a three-time champ. She took the lead this year at about mile 40-50 and never relenquished it, finishing five miles ahead of the runner-up (who was last year's winner). She's won about a dozen 100-mile events and a bunch of 50-mile, 100K and 50Ks, too.

She's a hell of an athlete and good person. Ultras are fun to do.

Just read this:

During the 56 hours she was racing, Entrekin slept only three times, for 5 minutes, 7 minutes, and 7 minutes, all on the dirt.

Wow!
