So my dad has been sick for a while now. Has parkinsons. We found out last week he has a very aggressive form of CLL. The only way to diagnose it is a bone marrow biopsy. It basically hid in his parkinsons, all the symptoms mimic the advancement of parkinsons.
I spoke to my dad twice while he was ill, but still functioning, not for very long, but got 2 short phone calls with him. Usually we talk for an hour 1 time a week.
As I was sitting around the dinner table last night with my oldest, I told him, I won't ever get to have a conversation with my dad again.
Thankfully he is home, hospice is coming, he has less than a month to live. I would be surprised if he makes it that long. He mumbles now, its hard to figure out what he is saying. It has been truly awful to watch him decline.
Why do we seem to forget that time with someone is fleeting, until time runs out?
Pick up the phone and call someone you love. Go visit them. You just don't know when time runs out. If I could turn back time, I would have made some more phone calls to my dad.

Sorry to hear about your dad, mine had a similar slow decline and it sucks watching them slowly fade. I'll be praying for you and your family. Years ago, as he was aging, my dad would call me every day and say 'I just wanted to call and say hey while I still can', the reality of what he was saying didn't set in good until it was too late.

My dad suffered hard the last few years. It was a blessing to know his suffering was over. I know that's little consolation. But it felt like a weight lifted off my shoulders when I got the call. His last words to my mother was asking her when I left. She told him three days ago. He laid back, said, Oh, OK. And took his last breath. The man suffered hard. He's at peace now.
Sounds like your dad is suffering hard. I pray for his comfort. and yours.
Character is not developed in moments of temptation and trial. That is when it is intended to be used.

I went through similar with my father and prayed relief for him. Had COPD, when he passed i knew he finally wasn't hurting for each breath and finally got the relief he was rewarded. As odd that's sometimes all you can do. Pray for comfort, however it comes. Hang in there brother.
Love a good hunting story, love my family and friends. Some people you can't, but acted like do.

I was sitting bedside next to my Dad when he took his last breath with Cancer. I'll never forget that day.
