A really interesting conversation but the important thing is that, as Christians, we not let this, however it plays out shake our faith. I think there will be a lot of things happen in the final days before the Second Coming that are meant to check our faith. I also believe that there are many things that God never intended for us to understand during our time here on earth. If your relationship with God is where it should be then nothing revealed to you in the coming times will change your understanding of God. It may change your understanding of the World and the Universe, but it won't change you understanding of God. I have already made the assumption, based on logical deduction, that there are other planets that have intelligent life, yet I still follow God and have faith in Jesus. Very true. The first part of what you said I mean. The second part… who knows? God controls the natural and the unnatural. So just because we deduce it from the natural, doesn’t mean it’s true.

Here is my problem: How far along are we with AI? Wouldn't a civilization, that is thousands of years advanced to us, just send AI drones?
I do know that when a technically superior civilization runs into a lesser civilization, that lesser civilization often suffers or is eliminated.

The Star Trek rule is really the only one that makes sense for considering intelligent alien life. We have to be able to effectively travel outside of our own solar system before they will ever have an interest in us. If you know the basics of Star Trek, the Vulcans did not even say hello to us until we achieved Warp Speed. That makes sense, otherwise we are not a threat or anything they would ever want to interact with.

I do know that when a technically superior civilization runs into a lesser civilization, that lesser civilization often suffers or is eliminated. Maybe what is being seen is AI drones, or maybe they are using quatum physics principles and the actual aliens are many light years away. Kind of like producing a hologram. Maybe its demons and angels, who knows.

The physics required for alien life (if it existed) to reach here, due to space and time, are mind blowing. Many of the distant stars that are viewed through the high tech scopes like Hubble, no longer exist, because the light that brings us the image proceeds the actual star by many millions of years.

Well a malfunctioning hot tub at a ski resort, once turned into a time machine (movie from early 2000s), so I guess anything really is possible.

But if that were the case, why would said civilization care to mess with us by flying orbs around the sky or abducting people to give them a rectal exam ? I would think they would have better things to do for entertainment.

If I was a bored highly advanced civilization, what better entertainment would it be than watching a bunch of dumbass humans doing goofy shit? It would be like us watching cat videos.

AI takes over the world. AI will figured out time travel. AI has to have biological robots to interact with the world. Aliens are these biologics. Some have escaped, traveled back in time and they are trying to warn us about AI.

Like others have said, I think the probability is they are waiting for us to cross some predetermined threshold before they think we have progressed far enough to even think of engaging with us. They probably think we are some crazy warlike culture that loves to kill each other because some stupid ass rulers can't get along.

I think TRUMP is a time traveler, that's how he is always 5 steps ahead of his opponents. There was a book written about Baron Trump time traveler in the 1800's.

I’ve been working with some pretty above average AI programs lately, and there ain’t no way this is taking over the world anytime soon. We are very safe for awhile.
