But I love all the Southern veggies, too... fried okra, squash casserole, collard greens, green beans cooked til they're unrecognizable, fresh field peas, country fried steak (which I might have cooked twice in my life) and gravy... These foods I grew up on but now are a treat.
Creole BBQ Shrimp is one of my favorites also.

I'm usually hurting after I eat them.

It would be hard to pick a favorite, but if it was possible, I’d like to have my mother cook me her deer hash, Lima beans, and corn bread. Just one more time.

Fried shrimp, raw yellowfin with some good dipping sauce, or any kind of sauce piquant or gumbo in the winter.

Favorite breakfast is fried grit cakes with a good thick tomato gravy pored over it.

My favorite meal revolves around family. My Grandmother made the best hamburger gravy and biscuits. No one can replicate them but my sister is close. Would trade most of my worldly possessions to be able to sit at her table and eat breakfast with her one more time.

Pork loin done by my mother (RIP) was mighty fine as were her mashed potatoes.

BBQ of any variety is always as hit.

Homemade ice cream.

Ribeye steak w' baked potatoe and green salad is hard to beat
