Watch what happens on May 9th. Russia broke the ceasefire by hitting civilian targets inside Ukraine. Zelenskyy then promised to disrupt their Victory Day parade in Moscow on May 9 with massive drone swarms. Putin then moved even more air defense weapons to bolster what was already in place. Which means 90% of the rest of Russia has lost a great deal of their air defense protection.

The 35k Russian casualties in April is significant, because they only added 30k in new recruits. A country with no navy has sunk 33 Russia boats and 2 submarines. Ukraine now controls most of the Black Sea using Sea Baby drones.

Trump told Zelenskyy he had no cards. Now the Middle East countries and the US are requesting help from Ukraine because they are the best in the business of defeating drone attacks without using $1m missile's to take down $50k drones.

Slava Ukraini.

Agreed.

It certainly is an interesting phenomenon to observe from afar.

I agree. It sounds like you are keeping up with the war like I am.

If Ukraine can make some kind of flashy attack that the Russian population can't ignore, like maybe hitting the May Day parade in broad daylight, it might just prove to be enough to really sway public opinion, but more importantly sway enough of the henchmen oligarchy to rise up and take out Putin.

The problem with that scenario is: Who will step up and take charge and will they be worse or better than Putin?

I used to think Putin was smart, cunning and a pragmatist, but what has unfolded with this war has really changed my mind on that.

My post wasn't to suggest that there were any "Good guys." I'm trying to keep this about the warfighting, innovation on the battlefield, and it's implications on how future wars will be fought and how it may reshape Russia and Europe in the future.

I'm trying to keep the politics out of the discussion, but that seems to be all anyone on here cares about.

People on here all say they hate politicians, but that's all we seem to talk about.

I understand what you’re saying and I was just pointing out that this is happening because of corruption on both sides
Without a doubt the face of warfare has been changed forever with drone technology
Drones are now being flown like the old Tow missiles that had an attached ultralight wire to fly it directly to the target
The only way to stop them is to shoot them down because jamming them won’t work and they can fly for miles like this

Thanks for the reply. I agree about the corruption, but Hell... Find me a government in the World that ain't corrupt. grin

I saw a picture the other day of some little village in one of the hotly contested areas. it was taken in the morning with dew on everything and the sunlight glistening off of it. It looked like thousands of giant spider webs draped over the entire village and it was all those little wires that control drones.

It was like this huge explanation of what's going on there summed up in just one picture. Crazy...

Drones are not the end all be all. If you have a directed energy weapon in theater, you can make them simply fall out of the sky. Most countries do not have the technology. We do, and have had it for quite some time. If I had to guess, I would be willing to bet that there have been numerous recent advancements with regard to drone defense applications. We dont advertise, show it, or deploy it much, but if needed, it is available. Fry the electronics and the drone or drone swarm crashes to the ground. It's also really cheap compared to missiles. Think BB price versus .50 BMG round for comparison.

What I'm most worried about is Putin using tactical nuclear warheads because he now knows he cannot win. Nothing scarier than a 73 year old man willing to die for his country. The Russian economy is in total collapse. Their main source of foreign currency is oil exports and Ukraine has taken out a lot of that. They may fly a flew drones to Moscow, but just enough to set off the air raid alarms. I think either the Crimean bridge or the remaining naval ships anchored in Novorossiisk would be prime targets and embarrass Putin the most. Their newest FP9 missiles are very good and have the range to hit either target.

Ukraine could have been defeated early but Putin for political or diplomatic reasons didn’t crush them when he had the opportunity.

I don't think so and I think the problem was logistics. I remember watching a retired supply sergeant who was an inspector for the US Army, looking at all kinds of evidence and one of the many things he pointed out was an extreme lack of maintenance on the Russian vehicles. Stuff like the tires were very old and cracking when they deflated the tires for the mud. This was caused by a epidemic of corruption in the Russian military and the generals and staff officers who should have been spending money to keep up the vehicles were actually pocketing the money. Shocker I know.

It's not so much guns, tanks, and missiles that win wars, it's logistics that win wars. Ask Napoleon in Russia in 1812 or The Nazi high command in Russia in 1943 or Robert E. Lee in 1864.

Russia simply didn't have their military ready for this war. They were lied to from the bottom up and they lied to themselves and convinced themselves they were ready and they weren't.

I'm telling you guys... Keep an eye on this.

Sometimes where there's smoke there's a fire.

We shall see. I just hope for everyone, if it does happen, that they at least get a pragmatic person in charge and not somebody even crazier.

This really wouldn’t be a surprise to us who grew up in the time when we saw several leaders of Russia come and go in just a few short years
I think Putin has lasted longer than all of them

Outside of Western Civilization, Killing your political rivals is the NORM and has been for a very long time. Not the outlier. It's only in the West that it's become taboo.

Anyone ever looked into the number of assassinations Japan underwent before the Army and Navy finally locked up control before WW2? Answer, a whole bunch. Taking the job of Secretary of State or Ambassador was a death sentance.

I firmly believe what we are watching unfold between Russia/Ukraine and now the Iran war is prophesy playing out. The Bible speaks of decimated countries banding together in that region for war against Isreal. Here we are seeing that exact thing happening. And Putin stands in the way of the One World Government movement just like Trump so he will have to be replaced, which I assume will be by death.

Russia could drop one bomb and it’s over so that’s that. Ukraine is a ponzy scheme and a joke. Money laundering and don’t know whether we or them are the number 1 seed in that game. It’s a joke and just something that could tie up the news cycles for months and some fall for it. Now we have Iran rinse and repeat. Where’s the boogeyman that seems to never be found.

Yes it’s not even remotely possible and has gone as quiet as the las Vegas shooter. Everyone wearing their Ukraine pins in congress which is a cesspool somehow went dark. Anyone who doesn’t see the game well I guess just keep playing the game that never ends.

Putin just came out yesterday and said that the Ukraine war is winding down.
