Well if you watch the video you will see why I love Arizona so much. Besides being born there and spending a good deal of my childhood there, it is just a state with amazing scenery and wildlife. This was all across northern AZ and not the true desert land. The elevation for the race would probably average about 5000 ft. It would be called "High Desert" land up to the foothills of the Rockies. Apparently, they went south of the Grand Canyon. They had to have crossed a reservation or two. They also had to have gone through some of the best elk hunting in the nation. Good luck getting a tag though. I was in the last group of non-residents to have been in the pool that had a reasonable shot at a tag. I drew an archery bull tag. Called in several, but never connected. I also called in a Black Bear several times during the week or so of hunting. That was fun.
