It looks like the oats that I planted last Oct that didn't spout until Dec have gone to seed (based on cell game camera). Will the seeds lay dormant until next fall? There is a flock of ~40 turkeys that show up on my property occasionally. They may not last.

I let my cereals go to seed more often than not. Not for the next season but just for the added food value to birds and mammals. I had both wheat and rye coming until yesterday when I mowed it down to cover my vetch, Alyce clover and sunn hemp planted ahead of this rain. But last year I let it ride into July and the turkey had eaten most of the seed heads.

I let mine go to seed just for the turkeys and other animals that like it.

My oats from September dove top sowing had gone to seed. Got the gly treatment and now the sunflowers will take their place. Was a good looking stand and hated to cut em down
