I have a feeling that it is coming soon. If recent history is a prediction measuring stick for the future, he will die an untimely death.

This Ukraine war is way worse than the debacle in Afghanistan for the Russians and it was certainly a leading contributor to the fall of the Soviet Union.

Ukraine has not just made an amazing transformation in their military, but a transformation in the way future wars will be fought. The only thing that I can think of historically that even remotely compares is the rise of the Third Reich after the devastating loss in WWI. That was an incredible transformation of their military, but it took a lot longer than Ukraine has taken. Pound for pound they have to be the best military in the World.

Ukraine is kicking Russia's ass on the battlefield. It can't be long now.

They outta be winning against anyone in the world after all the money we have given them.

I learned a while back that you can have your boss mad at you and be alright. You can have your co workers mad at you and be alright. Also you can have your subordinates mad at you and be alright. But if they all get mad at the same time its over. Putin has accomplished this admirably.

No one in our government wants this war to end.

I'm just watching the war the way an Alabama fan would watch a game between Notre Dame and Ohio State. I don't have any bets on who wins, I just find it interesting to watch it all play out.

Its kind of hard to support a country that Hunter Biden was propping up through the "Big Guy", money laundering, and what ever the heck else the Biden crime family was up to.

There were a lot of people who were Pro Ukraine. Including myself. No pro Ukraine as in I think they're innocent and great, but pro Ukraine as in Russia sucks balls and is our long time enemy on the world stage. I wanted to see Russia get their asses handed to them. Still do for that matter. I have learned a great deal more about the situation since them. What have I learned?

Biden and the EU wanted this war and collaborated with Ukraine to talk about joining Nato. Russia drew a hard line on that and Ukraine did it anyway knowing they had a lot of support. The EU and NATO have both used the US as their military enforcer since WW2. So it was reasonable to believe we would assist and they were right. The UK has been working those puppet strings since the end of the war of independence and most in our government either knew it and was ok with it, or blindly went along because our once oppressor was now our greatest ally. Makes all kinds of sense..

I've learned Ukraine is corrupt as hell and most of the monetary aid went right into the pockets of Ukrainians. We have long known they were dirty and that hasn't changed.

I've learned Russia was and is a paper tiger. Their military hardware sucks. They've been exposed. The one thing they have is the same thing China has. Expendable numbers. Cannon Fodder.

I've learned Russian military structure and tactics are not only antiquated, they're almost completely non-effective. The west has outpaced them at every single turn.

I've learned Putin is a hard man to kill. Or overthrow. Don't hold your breath.

I've learned a LOT of our politicians are beholden to the UK and the EU and don't give a rippidy dip about Americans. But I knew that anyway.

I've learned quite a few other things too. But tired of typing.

As Trump slowly dismantles the UK grip on the middle east and over us, a new system will take over. Don't know what it is or what it will look like. But better than what we've had the last century.

Ukraine may or may not win. Dunno. May just end up being a draw. That would be where I'd bet my money. The moment Trump told the little Ukraine dictator the ride was over, the EU didn't have the means to keep trying to start WW3. They've worked at odds against us getting a peace between Ukraine and Russia. They've acted like our enemy or they are the boss. We hold the power. Not them. I'd love to see us get out of the UN and Nato. Bring our troops home and let Europe sort their own shit out.

I'm curious. Has the regular Russian army been sent to fight or just the conscripts they snatch off the street? After all, the conscripts haven't gotten much training if any.

I think some regular Russian army are in there giving directions, but I think most of the Russians fighting are draftee's and prisoners, mercenaries, and prisoners from other countries. I saw a story about a prisoner from Kenya, black as black African can be complaining about not getting paid for fighting for Russia and how he had it easier in Kenyan prison.

How do you know? Really, this "conflict" is not garnering much attention right now. The fact in that makes me go hmmmm.

What all of this boils down to is that there are no “good guys” in the fight with Ukraine and Russia
The Biden regime along with several other US presidents used Ukraine as a huge money laundering tool as have much of Europe and the UK
They were all afraid Putin was going to upset this scheme and now we have what we see going on there today

The very fact that Ukraine is still there and Russia is still slugging it out like some kind of high tech WWI trench warfare is evidence enough. I've been reading up on it in various news sources and also watching some military channels on Youtube that are pretty in depth. No one can know for sure, but if you take in enough widely varying sources you can begin to draw your own conclusions.

The US lost something like 60,000 troops in the entire Vietnam war and by most modern measuring sticks that was a disaster for the US. I read where in one month Russia lost 35,000 troops. 95% of those troops were killed by Ukrainian drones. As callous as the Russian leadership is towards causalities, that still seems like a untenable number. There has to be a breaking point somewhere, even for Russia. Russia, like Japan, the US, Europe and even China is already in irreversible population decline, now factor in the causalities on the battlefield, this will be devastating to the Russian population numbers in the future.

Like I said before it's like an Alabama fan watching Notre Dame and Ohio State in a slugfest of a game. It's interesting to see it all play out, but who ends up winning really has no bearing on you.

I think the most interesting aspect of the conflict is how it is seemingly changing the way war is fought. I think in the future we will look back on this conflict and go, "That's where it all started."

Russia has a history of political upheaval when conflicts have gone horribly wrong. WWI & The Afghanistan war are two prime examples.

My post wasn't to suggest that there were any "Good guys." I'm trying to keep this about the warfighting, innovation on the battlefield, and it's implications on how future wars will be fought and how it may reshape Russia and Europe in the future.

I'm trying to keep the politics out of the discussion, but that seems to be all anyone on here cares about.

People on here all say they hate politicians, but that's all we seem to talk about.

I am somewhat with Irish...Ukraine has been the most corrupt country in the world for years. They got the comedian in as president so they could funnel even more money through Ukraine. I think Russia if it wanted to could wipe Ukraine away quickly but that would mess up the worlds funnel machine and Putin although crazy is not crazy enough to start a war with the world!

I can't help but admire the Ukrainians for the fight they have given Russia. That and the complete change in modern warfare they implemented that will affect the military for a very long time. There are parallels to the NVA against us in Vietnam. They refused to fight the way we wanted them to and refused to give up. And they won. It wasn't open warfare that collapsed the Soviet Union in 1991. Nor was it when the Russians lost in Afghanistan. Same with the US there. We didn't lose the battles. We just couldn't/wouldn't pay the price to win. Russia is in the same position.
