We had free range chickens on the farm when I was growing up and we had a battle with hawks catching our chicks all the time. Daddy took care of the problem by putting a steel trap on a fence post with red paint on the trigger. The hawks would light on the trap at the top of the pole. Problem solved!

Back in the day. When I was younger. An old friend of my dad’s had an owl issue. Did the same thing.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

My phone screen does not always work right, usually a lot of misspelled words....

One of the coolest birds I ever saw was a large one that we called a Rabbit hawk, with what look like a 3-4 foot wingspan. Never seen one that large since. Seems when a farmer from out of state moved in nearby most birds disappeared including the quail. Folks usually kept the small hawks numbers down. All predators are bad on chickens, even in a pen, a neighbor once said. You may could make bank training a hawk to catch moles. Keep them pictures coming.

Hoping for some velvet whitetail pics soon. I have to make the roughly 1k mile trip soon. Need gas to dip a 'lil more. My big buck spot doesn't have cams yet since I was iced out on my spring run up.

Thanks for sharing! Which camera brand do you like the best? The Garde Pro pics/videos look good, which model are those?

I typically buy what's on clearance but lately I've been purchasing all mine from Gardepro. I don't care for the lithium battery powered ones, but that's just me. I'm really happy with the AA ran cams and battery life has been good.
I use code VET15 and get 15% off and it typically works with cams that are on sale as well. I just got one last week that's new to me, the A-3. I also have a60 and E5's and like them and so far they've been waterproof as advertised.

There's a blonde 5x5 running with this group. I'll shoot him if given a chance. I typically let the blondes go hoping to get one when mature but, the gun boys shoot any legal bull.
