What ever you decide on, just make sure it is comfortable enough to carry on your person for an extended period. From my experience, if it is too bulky or too heavy, it wont get wagged around as much as one that will carry more comfortably. Just remember that the one in your pocket or on your belt is a LOT better than the one you left at home! A chest rig would reduce 'felt' weight by distributing it over a wider area as it's supported by the shoulders. That would be my choice of carry method regardless of weapon when in the wilds.
