Good question . Most cedar is chipped for closet lining board around here and sold by the ton. There's a mill in New Market. As far as sawn Cedar, I know of no sawmill that buys it. I reckon there's just not a market for it. Most folks who want some boards take a couple of logs to a mill and pay the mill to work them in and saw them.

I'd love to have this one sawn , don't know what I'd do with the lumber though. I've never heard of a veneer grade Cedar but if there was, the one pictured below would go veneer. Not a limb on it till 30 ft high.

Problem with cedar is you never know what you are going to get until you cut into it. This one looks good though.
