I thought I’d share my recent suppressor purchase timeline. The process has become pretty painless.

3/29/2026 Ordered a 30 caliber and a .22 caliber suppressor on Silencer Shop. Picked a local dealer with a kiosk
3/30/2026 Created an eforms account with ATF and went to kiosk at dealer for fingerprints
4/10/2026 Received notification from Silencer Shop that dealer has one of the suppressors and ready for ATF submission
4/10/2026 Called shop and gave them eforms account username and PIN number for ATF submission
4/20/2026 One suppressor was on back order, changed to one in stock
4/27/2026 Notified that dealer now has the replacement suppressor
4/29/2026 Called dealer to give account information for 2nd suppressor submission
4/29/2026. Received notification from ATF that both are approved and ready for pick up.

One month from order to pick up. Get it while the getting is good

I’m Glad you had a painless experience.

I have had a rodeo of a time with the fools I’m dealing with on one.

My buddy just got a 22 suppressor. It took 28 days for the ATF to approve with a trust. Now he has about 3 more weeks while they mail a letter to the sheriff and wait for a week then ship it to him.

From what I was reading, the typical wait with the ATF with a trust is about 50-55 days.

Both of the above purchases were in a single shot trust. The dealer said ATF was approving in about a week without a trust and a little more in a trust. My first one took 19 days. Oddly, the 2nd one was approved the same day. I was told the 2nd would be much quicker, but wasn’t expecting that.

We have a family trust, and recently bought 4 suppressors. Certified April 1, first two approved April 9, last one April 20.

We use SilencerShop. Our wait time seems to be consistently shorter than our friends who have used other options.

As information, the CLEO letter is one of the things that the new ATF director is planning to end.

I highly recommend Capitol Armory over Silencershop. Ive bought my last 4 cans through Capitol and its been an absolutely painless deal. And I never had to leave the house. 2 of those were approved in 25hrs. All were done as individual. I'll eventually move all of mine into a trust but for now im happy with the approval times on individual filings. Still pisses me off that we can't pick them up in blister packs at Academy like we should be able to

This thread on reddit is the best place I've found to get a realistic idea of current wait times. I got a form 4 trust back this week. 37 days. Im still waiting on a form 1 trust and today is day 64.

I got my silencer at Village pawn in Butler. They put silencer app on my phone and spear headed hole process. Took 4-5 weeks about a year ago

Try 13 months back in 2010

Get the F out of the BATFE. The F is guaranteed by the US Constitution. Those other letters are not.

Y’all must not be living right. Took less than 2 business days to get approved for the ones I’ve acquired over the last 2 years.
