My answer today is completely different from what I would have said even 3 months ago.
I decided to try the 5.7x28 round. I bought the S&W, as it comes factory threaded, added a Rugged Oculus suppressor, and hung it in a Cole-Tac Varmint Wrangler chest holster.
Pistol with the suppressor, loaded with 22 rounds, weighs 2 lbs 6 oz. Round is a 40 grain hollow point @ 1755 FPS. The chest rig is extremely comfortable to wear.
This has been my choice for the last 6 weeks or so while I have been looking for a new property, and I am really happy with the combination of light weight, firepower, and still being somewhat hearing safe.
