62 here as well. - "Milk being delivered to your front porch in glass bottles w/aluminum foil tops." -- our neighbor had a dairy farm and we'd walk over gallon jugs to get filled. I still sometimes catch myself shaking the jugs today to "mix the cream" at the top. - "Cashing in Coke bottles for a nickle" --yep. lunchtime at school we could venture out and get snacks and coke from a local store. We'd go find what bottles we could for money." - Had party lines - Only 2 channels of TV. - We could ride our dirt bikes on many gas ROW's and nobody cared. - The National Anthem was played before the two channels signed off...............then it was a test pattern. - Rode around in the back pocket of the VW Beetle because I was the youngest. Rode in the back of a truck bed many of times. My wife grew up poor. She said in the winter that nails in her house walls would frost over in the winter (we grew up in WV). I told her she'd never be cold again.
