Your best bet is to read about the same story from multiple sources and you can usually figure out what the general facts are and weed out the "editorializing"

That is what I do Gomer. There are a couple of sources I read that will report things that others will not and also that come out anywhere from a few days to a week sooner than most. Skinny..haha

Gomer - That's the way I view it. To get a true measure of an organizations slant, watch a news event in real time (ex: press conference, etc.) and then go to the various news sources and read their report on it. You'll see some common facts but its surprising what each leaves in and what they leave out and how they spin a narrative. I have also been involved directly in a few events that had news coverage. Reading the articles about those events gives you first hand account of how bad and bias news stories can be.
