I have found that parking next to the cart corals is the safest place in the lot because shopping carts are rarely put anywhere near them. Especially at WM.

That's the damn truth & it chaps my entire azz. I wish I had the physical capability to pick one up fully overhead & throw it into the cart corral. Can't stand lazy folks the don't put a cart when it belongs.
The left lane is for the the purpose of moving the flow of traffic forward regardless of the speed limit. If your impeding the flow of traffic get your ass in the right lane. It's really that simple...

I park in the remote spots for situational awareness. You can pick out and avoid the panhandlers who are approaching people in the parking lot plus see who is trying to be unnoticed loitering around. Space gives me time, time gives me options to avoid things. When the undesirables see you watching them they wander off.

I sometimes part at the veterans parking spaces at Lowes and I have come to realize that veterans as a group are pretty shitty parkers.
